Wessex Water wanted to build an office which was more in keeping with the area and followed its guiding principles of environmental sustainability.

Much time and consideration was also given to both two and three dimensional artwork inside the award-winning building.

The brief was specific and focussed on the building's location, the environment and sustainability.

The idea was to reflect the outside, inside, and take advantage of the Bath stone and large glass fronted areas. We wanted to produce a synergy between the surrounding fields, geographical contours and the inside environment.

It was important to reflect the building's colour schemes and finishings in the artwork and differentiate between the working spaces and public areas.

I was introduced to Shirley Hudson who was full of enthusiasm and worked tirelessly over a number on months on a tight budget and looming deadline.

The solutions suggested were tailor made and ideal for the building - fulfilling the contemporary, environmental brief perfectly.

Shirley has helped to create a wonderful environment for all the employees based at Wessex Water's Claverton Down site.
